A 'classic' painting representing the work of L.S.Lowry; taken undoubtedly in and around his home town in the Salford area of Manchester.
Lowry often used to move certain buildings and people in order to create a 'better' finished picture.. 'A little artistic licence...'
So although many of the buildings were in existence when Lowry painted this picture, they were not always in their original postion.
Which is why Lowry would often call his paintings, 'dreamscapes'.
